Solitaire's Designs

Nothing makes me happier than being immersed in nature and creating from that space.

Over the past decade I have been experimenting with many different materials. I love creating with clay, the slow and considered process of making by my own hands. This is how my earring designs were born. The technique of cyanotype captures the plant arrangements and imposes it onto the organic surface of the clay, becoming a blueprint.

The joy for me also comes with knowing that each pair are unique, you will never find any two the same, a true reflection and appreciation of nature’s individualistic compositions and beauty.

  • Not all Things are Made Equal

Growing up in the wilds of remote far north Queensland, I was always exploring outside. Fossicking in lush rainforest creeks or in beachside rockpools that lay bare at low tide, finding treasures of flowers, corals and shells. This was my ever-changing childhood playground that largely informs my artwork today, where the rainforest meets the sea.

  • Nature Replicated in Art

My love and appreciation of nature is the cornerstone of my artistry. Abound by curiosity for intricate details, shapes, lines, patterns and magnificent colours that are formed so perfectly, yet imperfectly in the natural world around us.

  • Living Blueprints

Often overlooked in our ever busier lifestyles, the simple treasure of natures designs in a tiny flower or even a weed that we would pull from the ground and discard are transformed into truly unique blueprints capturing beauty in it's prime before it withers and fades to be recycled to the earth. Solitaire's Designs are one of a kind treasures.
